What's your favorite

The classic get-to-know-you question. What is your favorite - fill in the blank -. Do you know what your favorite color is? Your favorite movie? Etc.... I was talking to a friend I went to high school with the other day, and while we were getting reacquainted, we went through the normal list of questions people ask each other. I look at them as compatibility questions, comparing your interests. During this round of twenty questions I really stopped to think about my answers, and came to the conclusion that I don't really have a good answer to any of the what's your fave questions. I don't have favorite books, I have favorite authors, a list I add to as often as possible. I love books, I get twitchy if I go too long without reading. I am a frequent flyer of Borders, and any of the second hand book stores anywhere around me. My favorite movie changes every week if not every other day. I am one of those people that watches all of the special features, and the how it was made stuff on the dvd's. I know directors, and can even tell some stunt people in full monster gear by the way they walk. Yeah I am kind of a nerd. I love scifi and horror and comedy..........I pretty much just love movies. I have a favorite wall in my house. It is the first thing I see when I wake up everyday.
I don't have what you would consider a beautiful bedroom, but it is my sanctuary, and I love it. From my DVD collection, to the books that have spilled over onto all of the surfaces of my room. I only keep out the books that I can't bear to put into storage. My dry erase board has turned into a photo collage I could stare at for hours.
Pictures of family, of friends, my wonderful nephew, and of course my beautiful little pixie. I see this wall every morning, and smile. This is my favorite. I change everyday, my favorite movie this week is Boondock Saints, but next week it will be the Lord of the Rings, or maybe Gladiator, or maybe even the Harry Potter's. Who knows. Isn't that half the fun. Who says we have to pick one thing, one person to be, one thing to like? I am never the same person, and that is something I hope I can pass to my daughter. Be anything she wants to be, pick many passions, or only one. I will never tell her she can't fly to the moon, or be a teacher, or a rock star. Interests change, people change Happiness cannot be bought, it comes from following your heart. So while my favorite anything is rarely ever the same from one day to the next, I try to always adhere to that fact. I am a mom, a book/movie enthusiast, an amateur writer, and even more amateur photographer. All of my roles and different personalities are who I am. And I am pretty damn awesome! :-) I am not the must read blog in the blogosphere, nor do I take the must see pictures. I love to write, and I love to take pictures, and that's all that matters. So there is my life lesson for the day. :-P Follow your heart!

  4. Thank you for stopping by! Thank you Cari :-) I liked the other style but it felt very "busy". Now if I could just figure out how to photoshop I'll be set, LOL.
